2023 Chevrolet Suburban

As one of only a handful of full-size SUV models available to buyers, the 2023 Chevrolet Suburban has a lot of appeal. It builds off the full redesign that Chevrolet undertook in 2023 and features a multi-link rear suspension that boosts the quality and comfort of the ride. Buyers can choose from six trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. On the LS trim, exterior features include heated side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and roof-mounted side rails. The LT tacks on a hands-free liftgate. Sporty enhancements on the RST include black trim, larger 22-inch wheels, and a unique front fascia. If you plan to take your Suburban off the beaten path, the Z71 is the best choice with a standard front skid plate, tow hooks, and all-terrain tires. The top High Country trim adds a unique grille with bronze accents, while options include an air suspension system and a panoramic sunroof.

With the lower trims, a 5.3-liter V-8 engine comes standard. It makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. If you want more power, the High Country trim includes a 6.2-liter V-8 engine rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. You can also add this engine as an upgrade on the RST, Z71, and Premier trim levels. A third option is available on all trims except the Z71. This 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six unit puts out 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All engines work with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The upgraded rear suspension makes driving the new Suburban much more enjoyable. No matter which engine option you choose, you'll appreciate the consistent power and performance. The 10-speed automatic transmission responds quickly for a smooth ride. This SUV is also one of the best in the segment for towing, offering a capacity of up to 8,200 pounds when it's properly equipped.

Standard cabin features include cloth upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a six-speaker audio system with an 8-inch touch screen and smartphone integration. With the LT, additional features include heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a wireless charging pad. The RST has its own set of seats with bold contrasting stitching. If you choose the Z71, the features will mostly align with those offered on the LT. The Premier trim boasts a power-folding third-row seat and heated and ventilated seats for added comfort.

No matter which Suburban model you choose, it will come well-equipped to protect your precious cargo. Standard passive aids include stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, a rearview camera, and air bags throughout the cabin. Chevy also includes active aids like parking sensors, forward-collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assist as standard across the board. Options are available, such as adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and blind-spot monitoring. The Super Cruise hands-free driving system is an option on the top trims.
