1. Join the Downtown Winter Festivities

At the end of November, Historic Downtown Circleville heralds in the Christmas season with the spectacular Downtown Christmas Parade, which usually starts at around 6:30 p.m. Join the celebrations to watch the colorful floats go by, attend the beautiful Tree Lighting Ceremony, and take the kids to tell Santa what they want for Christmas.

2. Have a Blast in the Snow

Head outdoors with your family and friends to enjoy fun activities in the snow. Sled down the hill at Barthelmas Park at 830 Kingston Pike here in Circleville, take a quick drive to A.W. Marion State Park, five miles out of town on Warner-Huffer Road, to sled, ice skate, and ice fish if the conditions are right. If you want to go skiing, the Spring Run Trail in Great Seal State Park at 4908 Marietta Road in Chillicothe, roughly 16 miles away, is ideal.

Fryer Park at 3899 Orders Road in Grove City, just over 26 miles away, has a designated sledding hill, or head 33 miles down the road to ice skate on the pond in Battelle Darby Creek at 8465 Alkire Road in Galloway.

3. Pop in at the Museums

Winter is a great time to wander through the museums to learn more about the region's history. The Ted Lewis Museum at 133 West Main Street in Circleville honors Ted Lewis, a famous vaudeville performer born and raised in the town. The Clarke May Museum at 162 West Union Street in Circleville is in a historic house built by Dr. and Mrs. Edward C. Clarke in the 1840s and 1850s.

The house is filled with antiques and the personal belongings of the Clarke family and other owners who lived there over the years. Take a drive to Ashville, 19 miles away, to visit the quaint and quirky Ohio Small Town Museum at 34 Long Street, where history comes alive through unique artifacts and fascinating tales about the town's history.

4 Fun Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Circleville, OH

The weather is finally warmer and it's time to explore Circleville, OH and the spring activities lined up this season. We know you'll love driving the local roads in your 2023 Buick Enclave and taking advantage of the sunroof. Here are some of the top events we recommend heading to. 1. Rhoadhouse 56 Grand Opening Event Rhoads Garden Center has a brand new event venue and they're hosting a grand opening to showcase it all. The new Rhoadhouse 56 event space is located at the garden center at 1051 St. Route 56 East. This spring grand opening event takes place at 6:00 pm on Friday, April 28th. You'll want to come to enjoy the smoked meat from Up In Smoke and live music from Ben True. There will also be raffles, door prizes, and other goodies to celebrate. more 2. The Uptown Chocolate Walk This spring the annual chocolate walk is back in Circleville. Tickets are $20, and they get you a full Saturday afternoon of treats. For this event, you get a chocolate passport and goody bag and then explore the downtown restaurants and shops. Every time you show your passport, you get a new chocolate treat. You can pick up your passport on Saturday, May 13th at noon. Pickup is at The Arts Round Gallery at 135 West Main St. Everyone is welcome to stroll through town, pick up chocolates, and enjoy the spring weather. 3. Circleville Pumpkin Show Band Spring Concert Family and friends are coming together for the free spring concert from the Pumpkin Show Band. This event will make for a fun Sunday afternoon of music and light dancing. It takes place at Emmett Chapel, located at 318 Tarlton Rd. You'll want to arrive at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 30th. 4. Gold Cliff Arbor Day Open House Gold Cliff Park is having an open house spring event to raise money for The Pickaway County Dog Shelter. Come out and enjoy some snacks in the park and listen to live music while you tour the 25 acres. As a bonus, there will be pets available for adoption from the Pickaway County Dog Shelter. This event is being held at 27340 US-23 in Circleville. It's happening on April 28th from noon to 8:00 pm. It should be a fun way to spend a spring afternoon while supporting our local pet shelter.
