The Traverse comes with a standard 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Every trim also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, six UBS ports, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker stereo with satellite radio. Available high-tech cabin upgrades include a larger 8-inch touchscreen, a premium Bose 10-speaker audio system, wireless charging, and integrated navigation.

Interior Space and Convenience

The Traverse is outfitted with push-button start, proximity keyless entry, and three-zone automatic climate control across the lineup. You can opt for either a bench seat that expands seating to eight or second-row captain’s chairs, which provide capacity for seven. The SUV has 10 cupholders throughout the cabin and other smart storage spots.

This SUV lands near the head of the midsize class for cargo space, with a total of more than 98 cubic feet with both passenger rows folded down. You can fold down the third row to access almost 58 cubic feet of space, and you’ll have 23 cubic feet of cargo room with all seats in the upright position. If you’d like an upgraded cabin, you can add features like heated, power-adjustable front seats, a premium sound system, and a heated steering wheel.

Performance and Fuel Economy

The 2023 Traverse is powered by a 310-horsepower V6 that gets 266 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. You can choose from standard front-wheel or optional all-wheel drive. The base model gets an EPA-estimated 18 city and 27 highway miles per gallon, which drops to 17 city and 25 highway mpg with AWD. With the right equipment, your Traverse can tow up to 5,000 lbs.

Driver Assistance and Safety

Chevy has equipped the Traverse with a full slate of driver assistance features, including the Teen Driver system, rear-seat alert, automatic high beams, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assistance, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera.

Higher trims and available packages have extra safety features. You can add a safety alert seat, rear pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors, an integrated rearview mirror camera, a surround-view parking camera, rear-cross traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.
